DOCTOR KAGAWA
ARRIVAL TO-DAY NOTED CHRISTIAN LEADER That there will be no mote war in the Far East is the opinion of Dr. Kagawa, the Japanese social reformer who is to arrive in Wanganui this afternoon and will speak to the public from the Opera House stage to night. When he arrived in Auckland recently, he drew a picture of the day when there would be a great confederation of Chinese and Japanese nations which would stabilise conditions in the Far East and make fur peace in the Pacific. He said that Britain, which was regarded as Japan’s friend, would support such a movement. Speaking of Christianity in Japan, Dr. Kagawa said it was direvtly responsible fur the passing of polygamy and for the legislation pa.-.sed last April abolishing the licensed system of prostitution.
