CASTLECLIFF CLUB POWER CUP FIRST ROUND. KING’S BIRTHDAY TOURNEY Numerous good cards were returned in the bogey match played iu conjunction with the first round of the Power Cup at the Cornfoot Park Links last Saturday, the best being that of E. H. Smith, who was two up on the Colonel. Some close games were played in the Power Cup, several even going to the »I9th. hole. On Saturday next a medal match will be played in conjunction with the second qualifying round of the championships. Players will be drawn in threes to enable all competitors to finish in good time. Any player who can start early is requested to do so as this will obviate congestion later in tho day. Players starting from 6 or 12 must follow the routine of tho course so as to give all players, especially ladies, a fair run. Some players starting from No. 6 have the bad habit of going from 11 to 1 instead of to 12 and others go from 18 to 6 instead of to No. 1. o On June 2, in the afternoon, a Mixed Canadian Foursome will be played over 18 holes. This competition has proved very popular on other occasions and visitors from other clubs will be welcomed. On June 3 a one-day tournament will be played consisting of medal rounds i . lining and afternoon, teams match, and senior and junior aggregate. The winner of tho nett aggregate (Castlecliff players only) will hold the Rose Cup for tho year. Visitors will also be heartily welcomed for this tournament.
