WANGANUI AFFAIRS METROPOLITAN UNION. MAN AGEM EN T COMM LTTE E MEETS. The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Wanganui Metropolitan Rugby Union was held last night. Present: Messrs. C. A. Danielson (chair), R. 1. Sewell, H. Whiting. A. Lockett. W. Kruse, E. Naumann, J. E. Lee, J. E. Bannister, E. V. Laws and the secretary, Mr. C. S. Swan. A third grade player, who had been ordered off and reported for indiscriminate kicking, was severely cautioned and ordered to stand down for one playing Saturday. The County Club’s application to have their mauch against Ratana next Saturday played at Fordell was not acceded to, but it was decided to inform them that no objection would be taken if they could mutually arrange the venue with Ratana. The Kaierau Club’s request for permission to play a match against Patea ' next Monday at Spriggens Park was declined on account of the decision to j ply Senior Cup fixtures that day. It was decided to play the third set of the Senior Cup competition on Monday next. May 6, on the King’s Jubilee holiday, the games commencing at 10.30 a.m. Three matches will be played, one on Spriggens Park, one on the racecourse and one at Waverley. The time of starting the Waverley match against Technical Old Boys, will be mutually arranged by the cluTjs concerned. Ratana Club were granted permission to play a match against the Levin Maori team at Bulls on Saturday next. An application to have three Ratana players reclassified was referred to the Classification Committee. It was decided to call a meeting of club delegates on a date suitable to the W’anganui Rugby Union for the • purpose of discussing the proposed . Queen Carnival and art union. The matter of going into the question of championship points for the junior and lower grades was referred to the Junior Advisory Board for their report. The action of a sub-committee in concluding arrangements with the Wanganui Hockey Association for stag ing the Indian hockey team’s match I against Wanganui on Spriggens Park , on May 25 was confirmed.
