WRESTLING AT AUCKLAND
SPECTACULAR OPENING. SUDDEN PUNCH ON JAW. [ Ft Pfo«i AMoci«Uoa. J AUCKLAND, April 29. The American heavyweight Cy. Williams ushered in the 1935 wrestling season iu somewhat, spectacular manner at the Town Bali when, three seconds from t.fap commencement of a professional bout with Sam Burmister, he feigned to shake hands but dropped his opponent, with a heavy jolt to the jaw to rake the first fall with a press. It was a fitting prelude to a lively, boisterous bout, which, falling short of what was desired from the point of wrestling, lacked little in illegalities and showmanship. Burmister took the equalising fall by submission in the third round, and the bout ended in ihe fourth when Williams was disqualified for repeatedly kicking his opponent on the face and body and other illegal lactic?. There was a poor attendance.
