THREE 'MEN RESCUED
IMPRISONED IN MINE. Sol’TH AIK I' AX DISASTER. JOB AN N ESBUKG, April 2ft. After having been imprisoned for 3. days, a miner, W. Anderson, and two natives were, found alive in the loin, level of the new Macravie Gold Mine at Potchefstroom. The rescue part' had been working feverishly to reach two white miners and 40 natives who were trapped. The men were found in a box hole which was below the watet level but the imprisoned air had kept j back the flood and had enabled the men . to breathe. The rescue party subsequently found ■ another European and several natives . dead. There is no hope for the rest.
