AN ARTISTIC ACCOMPLISHMENT
will have no cause to regret that it has undertaken to provide Wellington with a demonstration programme under the auspices of the New Zealand National Eisteddfod. The programme of this, it can be asserted, will be proved by the concert which is to be given to-night in the Opera House. This concert is a purely voluntary effort on the part of all concerned, but its artistic merit has been heightened by the fact that the programme has been framed to include 1 several items which have been harmonised and arranged by the conductor, Mr. ]■’. Wentworth Slater, and also a vocal solo which has been composed by Mr. Gordon Mcßeth, who will act as accompanist to his own composition. The composite nature of this effort, combined with the encouragement given to musical composition by resident musicians, unite to make the demonstration concert a, unique artistic accomplishment which is probably unique in New Zealand.
