No extensive damage and no injuries were reported, but at Gayndah, in the Burnett district, a number of buildings were cracked and stock on shelves thrown to the floor. Alarmed residents at- Kingaroy, where two distinct shocks were felt, rushed into the streets. 'The most severe tremor in the metropolitan area was at Cribb Island, where homes were violently shaken and residenes terrified.
