RAIN AT GISBORNE
HEAVIEST FOR YEARS. f Per A»»o«4*tjan ). GISBOURNE, April 13. The rainfall at Gisborne for the 24 hours to 9 a.m. was the heaviest recorded for years, being 2.37 inches. The Public Works Department is despatching all available men from Bartlett’s and Morere to clear slips, but estimates that three or four days w ; ll elapse before the work is completed.
