YACHT KORRIGANE

REPORTED ARRIVAL SUVA, April 10. An Unconfirmed report states that the yacht Korrigane arrived at; Moala, Fiji Group, on Monday night. MESSAGE TO CONSUL [ Per Tress Association. ] AUCKLAND, April 10. The French Consul, M. Joubert, early this morning received a message from the French Consular ageut at Suva: “Trading vessel reports that the yacht Korrigane arrived at,Moala Island, Fiji group, one hundred miles from Suva,, at 6 p.m. on Friday. No details.” M. Joubert is communicating with the Marine Department in reference to the Maui Pomare which is proceeding to the Kermadees to search. CAPTAIN'S OBSERVATIONS. Received April 10 t 9.45 p.rn. SUVA. April 10. The auxiliary cutter Tui Vunilagi arrived at Suva this afternoon. Captain Smith reports that his cutter was lying at anchor at Moala Island, 110 miles east-south-east of Suva on Monday, when he saw the schooner approaching the entrance under sail. As the anchorage was bad with coral patches, and Captain Smith did not wish to foul his own anchors, he proceeded to the entrance in a dinghy and piloted the schooner to an anchorage. He had not boarded the schooner and there was no conversation beyond thanks for the pilotage. He observed the name La Koriigaue on the stern, and there were two boats in the davits. Captain Smith left for Suva the next morning, and passing close to the schooner, on which all appeared well, he observed a bunch of bananas in the rigging, so he presumed the schooner had visited other islands in the Fiji group, or perhaps Tonga. He. understood the schooner was bound for Suva. Perhaps more news will be gathered thru a local trading vessel which is due at Suva early. The Korrigane broke quarantine laws in visiting Moala before entering a port of entry.
