FREIGHTER’S S.O.S.
“HOLD FILLING RAPIDLY’’ STEAMERS RUSHING TO SCENE : NEW YORK, April 9. Tiie British freighter Badagry sent an S.O.S. message: “Hold filling rapidly, position about 200 miles east of St. John's, Newfoundland.’' The steamers Seanstates, Manchester, Producer and Newfoundland are reported in the vicinity and are proceeding to the freighter's assistance. SHIP ABLE TO PROCEED. Received April 10, 9.55 p.m. NEW YORK, April 9. The freighter Towerbridge, formerly the Badagry, wirelessed that she did not need immediate assistance. She expects to reach St. John’s, Newfound land, on Wendesday at noon.
