SOCCER REFEREES
AUCKLAND DISPUTE. APPEAL TO N.Z. COUNCIL. [ Per Press | WELLINGTON, April 9. A deputation from the New Zealand Referees’ Association waited on the New Zealand Football Council this evening to urge the necessity of effecting a solution of the dispute among ' members of the Auckland Referees’| Association, which had culminated in disbandment last year. When the disruption came, it was explained, an association styling itself the Auckland Referees’ and Linesmen’s Association was formed, but it had not arrived at a solution. The delegation suggested that the New Zealand Council should order a i conference to see that certain of the j referees received just treatment. The chairman said the problem was , really one for the Auckland Football Association. The New Zealand Council did not wish to take decisive ac tion but would be alert to prevent in justice being done.
