KILLED ON WEDDING EVE
CYCLING TO MEET FIANCE. On the eve of her wedding, Miss Nora Bishop, a Manchester girl, aged 21 was killed in a collision between her bicycle and an omnibus. Miss Bishop was cycling to meet her fiance to inspect their future home when a strong gust of wind blew her into the path of the ’bus. The front of the ’bus was badly damaged and a 12-year-old old passenger, Annie Meredith, of Flixton, was trapped in her seat, which had to be unbolted from the floor before she could be extricated. Both girls were taken to hospital and occupied adjoining beds. Miss Bishop’s fiance, Mr. Fred Beeley, was still waiting at the trysting place when a policeman told him of the accident. He dashed to the hospital, but Miss Bishop died shortly before his arrival.
