A complaint against a man that he was in arrears with the payment of maintenance for his wife was adjourned. The man said he was on relief but. hoped to get work on some contracts in Palmerston North. fixed at. 3s for seniors and 2s for juniors. JI was suggested that in the event of Mangaweka not being able to field a junior team, that they co-operate with Ohingaiti and if this were done it would no doubt strengthen both teams. Ohingaiti have several junior players in the district and if their lot were thrown in with Alangaweka it would most certainly raise the standard of play. However, it was thought that probably it was too late to move in that direction. However, if that step was sponsored, there is little doubt that in the district they may be able to establish three teams, a senior junior and third grade team. The prospects of the Alangaweka senio.r team appear fairly bright. This year the ground should be in much better playing order. The local Domain Board has a gang of men employed carrying out a fairly' large draining scheme. They have also decided to build dressing sheds, a refreshment room and are also installing shower baths. At the conclusion of the meeting it was decided to write a letter of appre ciation. to Air. Hugh Johnston, who was president of the club last year, and who has new left the district. Letters of thanks are also to be sent to Messrs- Dickinson and Person, who supplied the club with the goal posts from their property last year free of costs. Air. Len Smith, in retiring from the committee, thanked the club for the support it afforded him last year and wished the club every success for the forthcoming year. An invitation is being sent to the Utiku Club, inviting them down for a friendly week-end match. The meeting concluded after handing over the Junior Cup to- Air. Lawrence Peacock, who captained the junior team last vear.
