MURDER MYSTERY
HEADLESS BODY IN CANAL GRUESOME FIND BY BOYS LONDON, March 19. A headless male torso with the legs severed close to the body and a hand missing has been discovered in the canal near Brentford, which is on the line between Hounslow and Waterloo, where the legs were found. The body, wrapped in a flannel shirt and trousers in. a loose-tied sack, was found by boys seeking tadpoles. It was cabled on March .1 that the mystery of the legs in a train was the latest murder problem. The discovery of a man’s legs skilfully severed at the knee iu a brown paper parcel under a seat of a suburban train at Waterloo on February 25, led to police activity all the week, resulting after examination at hospitals and mortuaries in an announcement that there' were no grounds for suspecting a grim hoax, which was the only alternative to murder. The description and possible appearance of the victim following a medical examination of the legs suggested that he was between 20 aud 30 years of age, about sft. Bin. in height, slim, and possibly a dancer, as the toes were contracted owing to tight-fitting shoes. __
