LARGE FOUNDRY ABLAZE PRISONERS BREAK GAOL Received March 10, 7.15 p.m. MELBOURNE, March 10. A disastrous fire yesterday destroyed the pattern shop of Thompson’s large foundry at Castlemaine. Two hundred firemen had a difficult task in saving the other portions of the foundry, and while the fire was at its height, three prisoners at the local reformatory scaled the high walls, slid down a drain pipe, and escaped.
