DEFENDER OF SHANGHAI. Received Feb. 25, 11.55 p.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 25. The Chinese General Tsai-ting-kni, the hero of the defence of Shanghai, arrived by the Mariposa and was warmly welcomed by hundreds uf local Chinese. Lie is here at the invitation of. admiring countrymen, who entertained him at a Chinese Republic reception to-night. The general, as a result of recent political events in China, is said to be in exile without a country.
