Mr. Lloyd George in the second big speech of* his “New Deal’’ campaign advocated extensive developments in railway electrification and the reorganisation of housing and road construction, improvements in rural Wales, reconditioning of derelict land, modernisation of farm buildings, and training people in scientfic methods of cultivation. The strenuous pursuit of these methods, he maintained, would drastically alter the unemployment problem.
