TUESDAY’S TRACK WORK. I INTERESTING GALLOPS. ; The New Plymouth track bore a busy appearance on Tuesday morning even I hough there was not a great deal of fast work, says the Taranaki Daily News. Bolh lhe plough and the outside of lhe course proper were avail able on Tuesday morning and both, were freely used. The first lo work was Taliuraiigi, hut he was riot asked to do more than steads half pace work. He has fresh cned up nicely since Stratford ami looked bright and well. He claims two engagements but his owner stated that he would most probably take his place in the field for the Taranaki Cup when he was ridden by W. E. Pine. Refresher bowler over a circuit in good style, the last five furlongs taking linin, JO 4-ssec. He has come lo hand quickly and will soon be ready for racing. Glenvane, looking none the worse for his racing at Wanganui, Lit out. freely in his pace work. Lalla Quex pulled hard over a circuit at an easy three-quarter pace. This mare is looking well and should not be long in atoning for her failure at Ashhurst. Merry Way, displaying a great burst of pace, easily beat Vinco over live furlongs on the outside of the course proper in Imin. 4|sep. She ran the first two in 24sec. and three in 36sec. Despite her failures at Wanganui this mare is in great heart at. present. Vinci) was unable to go with her early but he was running on well at the end. Ringside and Bay Sand did two rounds at a solid half-pr.ee both mining freely. Ringside and Gold .Mission ran five furlongs on the plough in 1 min. 5 3-ssec on Monday morning. Y r than and Grateful were let off with easy tasks. Chief Marionette did steady pace work. She galloped six furlongs on the plough in Imin. ISsec. on Monday morning. She is standing up to her working in a satisfactory manner. Courtega anxious to go faster over a couple of rounds at a good halfpace. This mare, is looking well. Aussie Ra and Davistock were associated over a couple of rounds ol pace work on the plough. 'J hey ran the last half-mile at three-quarter pace and were anxious to go faster. Joy Box showed her usual pace in scampering over five furlongs on lhe plough in Imin. 31sec. This filly worked more tractably than she has ever before and may be settling down. The two-year-old Bonny Glow was just in front of General Quex at the end of five furlongs on the same track iu Imin. 5 l-ssec. This filly has shown improvement in her track work of late and will be seen in action on the second day of the rueetiueCereal rar, five furlongs under a. strong pull in Imin. Ssee. on the out side of the course proper. He moved evenly throughout and pulled up well. Illuminate was allotted an en*' seven furlongs on the plough. He was not hurried over the first part, but came home in good style over the last two furlongs iu 24see, to register Imin. 39sec. for the full distance. Lady Kyra did better than Red Fox over five furlongs on the plough in 1 min. 3Jsec. She was going easily all the way and carried out her task in an attractive fashion. She has freshened up splendidly since Ellerslie and YV. Mantle has her in splendid order at present.
