WOOL AT DUNEDIN
FULL BENCH OF BUYERS IRREGULAR MARKET [ Per Press Association J DUNEDIN, Deb. 6. The second Dunedin wool sale commrniced this morning, when a catalogue of 25,306 bales was offered to a lull bench. Bidding from Bradford and the Continent was keen, with, the local mills operating for super wools. The demand from Germany andjapam was very quiet, both countries purchasing only limited quantities. Bidding was Jess spirited than at the first sale, but the market ruled steady as compared with northern sales. Most of the wools were heavier im condition than the December offerings, many of the later shorn clips being forward. in a number of instances the growers’ reserves were oai the higher side and the passings on the first catalogue of nearly 70UU bales were about. 8 per cent., as compared with the December sale, which definitely established values for the Dominion. The only difference was in extra super qualities, for which the local mills were biddiing freely. Those grades showed an advance of id to Id per lb. Super wools were on a par with the Dec-ember rates for medium and average quality. The market was irregular with a tendency to easy. Crossbreds were barely equal to December prices, except for choice lots. Bellies and pieces were inclined to weaken), but the lower prices were due to heavier quality. J he top price to noon was 15|d lor 15 bales of super halfbred ewe, \ iewpoint brand, grown by Mr. H. Armitage, ot Teviot.
