Passengers Delayed.

After a fast trip from Sydney tbe I nion Company’s liner Monowai arrived at Wellington at mid-day ou Monday and berthed at 12.40 p.m. at No. 1 south Queen's Wharf. Her passengers were able to leave in about an hour, slightly later than was anticiI ated, though she carried nearly 350. .The delay was due to some misunderstanding. The customs officials left in the Janie Reddon to board the Monowai in the stream. The liner, howeever, did not stop to pick up the officials, but, proceeded direct to her berth. The customs officials thus were forec-l to re turn tn the wharf and board the Mono wai after she had been berthed
