MURDERER FACED. MAN SUBMITS TO ARREST. CALCUTTA. Jan. 24. A British police officer, Superintendent. J?. W. O’Gorman, showed great bravery al Poona, in arresting a : kh who had fa'tally shot, a man and a woman. 'The murderer took refuge on a balcony, and defied armed policemen for five hours. Because the street was thronged, the police feared a revolver duel would endanger innocent lives Finally Superintendent ()'Gorman sent a Sikh priest upstairs, and following closely behind him, he called on the man to surrender. The police officer held ou-t his hands to show that he was not armed, and assured the murderer that he only wanted to see justice done. The murderer then surrendered his weapon and submitted to arrest.
