CAR OVER A BANK

THE DRIVER KILLED. ( Ter Press Association). THAMES SOUTH. Jan. 22. As the result of a car going over a bank at about midnight nine miles from Whitianga, Mr. Robert Stanley Robertson, traveller for John Reid and Co., Auckland, aged 45, married, with four children driver of the car, was killed instantly, and his two companions wore injured and taken to hospital at Mercury Bay—Mr. Leslie Jolly, of Cromwell, married, condition serious; Mr. Alfred Wilson, licensee of the Tapu Hotel, married, condition serious. The car was proceeding from Coromandel to Whitianga. It is believed that the bank gave way and the car rolled over into the creek below, all of the occupants being thrown into the water. The driver, Mr. Robertson, was killed instantly. His body was removed to Whitianga, where an inqueet will be held.
