PERSONAL *«rs. Crighton Hughes and her two children, Morrinsville, are visitors tu Waverley as the guests of Mrs. Hughes’ fattier, Mr. A. J. Ad lam. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Elrnslie are at present enjoying a holiday in New Plymouth. Mr. ami Mrs. A. G. Wallace, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Dickie, Mrs. Graham and the Misses Graham lea'e for Auckland to-day (Monday). Mr. Eric Palmer, who finished his course of study at the Feilding Agricultural College ai the end of 1934, has taken up duties in the farming line at Te Awamutu. The A. and P. Association’s Waverley committee is at present having a discussion on the advisability of holding the annual show on the local race course instead of the Recreation Ground. Mesdames R. i'. Palmer, Muir and Pepper are very kindly donating trophies for croquet competitions to be played during the season. The mem’sers of the club are much indebted to 'W-lp la diet for their generosity and some good matches will be looked forward to. Miss Ruth Alexander was the recipient of a delightful lot of kitchen ware as a result of the afternoon ten dered to her by Mrs- Parsons and her daughter, Miss J. Parsons, on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Flaherty, with their two daughters, who had been holiday ing in Auckland and Rotorua, returned to Waverley on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. A. Williams are on their anifual holiday and are visiting friends.

Mr. aud Mrs. Win. MacFarlane are in Wellington and will be there for some weeks. OBITUARY MRS. LAMONT It is with very deep sympathy for the family that the news of the sudden death of Mrs. Lamont was received in Waverley early on Sunday morning. The deceased lady, who had resided in Waverley for a number of years, was of a very retiring nature, and was very highly respected. By her passing Waverley will be the poorer. She leaves a grown-up family of sons and one daugh ter.
