The Sun-Herald, agency says that hope of agreement on the main issues in the naval discussions has virtually been abandoned. It is now essential to devise a formula registering an adjournment instead of a collapse. Nobody believesl’ that there is the remotest chance of the Japanese compromising, as they are irrevocably pledged to a denunciation of the Washington Treaty. Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, the Prime Minister, however, is determined that the delegates shall reassemble, but nobody at present is clear as to why they should do so.
