Messrs H. Takarangi (Putiki) and ’ Rangi AVhakateka (Jerusalem) will leave Wanganui at five o’clock on Tuesday for Rotorua, where they will represent the Wanganui natives at the traditional welcome to be accorded His Royal Highness, the Duke of Glouces- ; ter. There will be preparation on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and the Duke will be welcomed on the Saturday. Messrs Takarangi and Whakateka will return to Wanganui on Sunday. Mr. J. Hayder, who has been an emi ployee of the Mangawhero Road Board and subsequently the Wanganui County . Council, with the latter body as fore- ; man, for the past 50 years, is retiring from active work. He was farewelled at a meeting of the Wanganui County ■ Council yesterday and wished long life and happiness in his retirement. Mr. Duncan Mackintosh, the chairman, referred to Mr. Hayder ’s loyalty and hard work. Mr. AV. Craig endorsed the chairman's remarks. The county ■ engineer (Mr. R. R.
