The Rev. G. S. King left Wanganui yesterday morning for Dunedin to attend a meeting of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian ChurchMr. J. R. G. Jack, a member of the staff of the Ohingaiti Post Office during the past three years, has been transferred to Greytown. He leaves Ohingaiti this morning. Mr. T. W. Downes, of Wanganui, has been appointed to act as chairman of the Ethnological and Historical Section of the Science Congress to be held in Dunedin next May. Mr. J. Madden, postmaster at Wanganui, who has been appointed postmaster at Dunedin, was fare welled by members of the Wanganui staff yesterday afternoon. Mr, ID. T. Allen presented Mr. Madden with a silver afternoon tea service, and a silver cigarette case. Mr. Allen, in making the presentation, referred to the excellent relationship that had always existed between the Wanganui office a.nd the district offices during his regime.
