SHOOTING
WANGANUI GUN CLUB CLAY BIRD SHOOTING WAVEKLEY WINS THE SHIELD A very enjoyable afternoon's sport over the traps was spent on Saturday by the members of the Waverley and Wanganui Gun Club. Waverley was very well represented and the visitors were successful in winning the teams match for the Shield by the margin of seven breaks. The president, Mr 1. Cuthbertson, heartily congratulated Waverley on their win and, in handing the shield to Mr R. Davies, captain of the Waverley team, called lor cheers, which were heartily given. Air Davies suitably returned thanks. The shooting conditions were tricky owing to the northerly wind, which kept the clays very low. Afternoon tea was dispensed by Mrs Hempton.
