BONDHOLDERS BEWARE!
gONDHOLDERS in the various trust companies which are being investigated by the Governments of New Zealand and Australian States should be on guard concerning the* advances which arc being made to them by persons posing as their friends. When there is a large accumulation of money there is always somebody willing to assume control of that money. Whether the investigations will reveal that it is desirable that the management be changed in the interests of debentureholders is not here discussed, but it is certainly desirable that in any reorganisation, only persons of undoubted probity and experience should be appointed to important offices. The holders of bonds and debentures would be well advised to be very careful to whom they accord support, and until they are assured that there are desirable bondholders’ representatives available to serve as trustees or directors, they would be well advised to stay their hands and give neither proxies nor votes to those soliciting such support. There is a feeling by some of those who are holders of bonds that attempts are being made to stampede them into taking hasty and precipitate action. These attempts should be resisted until the position becomes clearer than it is at the moment.
