Up-river Interest So great is the interest being displayed in the forthcoming Wanganui show by the up-river natives that the A. and P. Association has had to charter special steamers from the Wanganui River Services, Ltd., to run from Pipiriki <*n Thursday of next week. Stops will be made at the main pas en route to gather in the tribes which are coming downstream to applaud their entrants in the poi and haka competitions, which are to be judged by Sir ?*pirana Ngata and Mr. Taite te Tomo. Wanganui Show There is every indication that the forthcoming Wanganui Diamond Show, which is to take place on Wednesday and Thursday of next week, will be the most outstanding ever promoted in Wanganui. Entries for the knitting competition close definitely to-morrow, and it is hoped that there will be an exceptional volume of local entries Mr. 11. Malcolm Ives has kindly consented to judge the industrial exhibits, lie has had wide experience in display work and expects a difficult task tc find the winner of an exhibition which will outrival any other of a similar kind organised in Wanganui. Some uncertainty seems to exist as to what privileges a member’s ticket carries. It will entitle the member, his wile and two children to attend the show on both days, or a member and his wife on one day and himself, wife and four children on the second day. Alternatively a ticket will permit a member and two ladies to attend on both day*.
