Tallow. —Demand good at auction; 1444 casks offered, of which 1051 sold at from 6d to Is per cwt- advance on the prices ruling at the last auction. Present spot quotations are:—Mutton: Fine 22s 0d; fair to good, 19s to 21s 6d; dark to dull, 16s 6d to 17s nd. Beef: Sweet and/or mixed, 20s 3d to 21s; fair to good, 17s G.d to 20s; dark to dull, 16s to 17s. Mixed: Fair to good, 17s 6d to 20s; dark to dull, 16s to 17s. Gut, etc., 16s to 17s. Hemp—Manila: Market continues dull. Closing values for SeptemberNovember shipment £l2 15s Output, January 1 to September 10 1,019,000 bales against 316,000 for the same period last year. Stocks in the United Kingdom at September 1, 2c u oo, against 11,450 bales for last year. Stocks in Manila at September 10, 163 000 bales against 147,000 for last year. Sisal: Market dull and easier. September-November shipment qliotet sellers at £l3 17s 6d. New Zea and: Market nominal and unchanged. Stocks in London at September 1, 38 tons, against 75 tons for last year. weak.
