ALLEGED THEFT
ACCUSED SENT FOR TRIAL. [ Per Press Association ] AUCKLAND, Sept. 13. An allegation that, he gave a Chinese laundryman £5O rash because the latter suggested that it. might be stolen from him, was made by a Chinese schoolboy, aged 14, at the Police. Court, when Stanley Horne, aged 44. was charged with stealing £5O belonging to Sang Fong. Accused made a counter allegation that the boy gave him the money to buy opium, and they were to divide the profits. He asserted that he remitted £5O to a Chinese in Sydney and that he expected the opium to arrive by the Monowai next trip. He pleaded not guilty to the theft harge anil was committed for trial.
