The number of insured persons, between the ages of 16 and 64 years, at work in Britain on June 25 last, was 10.163,000, or 419,000 more than a year previously. The total number described as unemployed on the same date was 2,092,586, classified as follows:—Wholly unemployed, 1563,432; temporarily unemployed, 447,320; normally ia casual work, 81,834.
