ALL FOR MELBOURNE
EMPIRE CONFERENCES DELEGATES FROM ENGLAND LONDON, Aug. 24. The visitors to the biennial conference of the British Empire Service League, which will be held in Melbourne during the Centenary celebrations, will include Lord Milne, who will officiate on behalf of Earl Jellrcoe, the grand president, BrigadierGeneral Home, Captain Siinsoiq secretary to the British delegates, General Sir Alexander Godtey, Sir lan Eraser, four South Africans, including Briga-dier-General Wylie, probably three Canadians, including Brigadier-General Ross, and probably three delegates from India and four from Malaya. Other countries to be represented are Sierra Leone, Rhodesia and Scotland, and probably Ceylon, Burma and the Irish Free State. The Royal Empire Society will send 22 delegates, under the leadership of Sir Archibald Weigall, including ten women. The British National Union, in conjunction with the Overseas League, w ; ll send a delegation of 38, including 29 women. The delegates will include Mrs. Arnold Dixon, representative of the Cook memorial committee (which arranged the sale of Cook’s cottage) and a descendant of Captain Cook.
