AIR MAIL EXPERIMENTS

PICKING UP FROM ROOF [ British Official Wireless. ] RUGBY, Sept. 4. Experiments into the feasibility of landing and collecting air mail from the roof of the General Post Office in London and its transport to Croydon airport by means of an autogiro are in contemplation. A trial flight may be made this week. Post Office authorities believe that if the scheme could be put intc practical effect the* time saved in the transferring of air mail to the airport would lead to an increased use of air mail services.
