WAGE INCREASES
CANTERBURY EMPLOYEES ' CONCILIATION PROCEEDINGS. I Per Press Association. ) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 24. Au almost general increase of 5 per cent, in wages was offered by the employers’ assessors in Conciliation Council proceedings to-day in the North Canterbury timber yards, sawmills and coalyards employees’ dispute. An agreement was reached on all points except two, and these will be considered by the employers before . final proceedings cn September 13. RESTORING THE “CUT.” [ Per Press Association. I CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 4. The employees of Bunting and Co.. Ltd., brush manufacturers, have had restored to them another portion of the ten per cent, wages cut. In April 2| per cent, was restored retrospective for one year, and at the end of last week another 21 per cent, was restored.
