MELBOURNE AIR RACE

THE STARTING POINT. AIILDEN HALL AERODROME. LONDON, Sept. 3. The Air Council has sanctioned the new air force aerodrome at Mildenhall as the base of the Centenary Air Race starting on October 20. No civil aero club possesses the necessary hangar accommodation. The Royal Aero Club will be entirely responsible for the organisation at Alildenhall, the hangars of which consist of two sheds, each of 30,000 feet superficies. The aerodrome is 14,000 yards by 11,000 yards, the maximum run being 15,000 yards. The area is free from fog and the surface is unlikely to become boggy and there arc no adjacent tall obstructions.
