Fashion and a Hat. A 250-year-old hat, with romantic associations, was -worn in the Royal Enclosure, states a Londe . vliter. Its owner had unearthed it from an attic because it was similar to the fashionable hats of to-day. “Tradition has it that one of my husband’s ancestresses wore the hat at Taunton when the Duke of Monmouth arrived on his illfated attempt to secure the English throne,” said its owner. “A week or so ago we were discussing what I should wear at Ascot when I had a sudden inspiration to wear this hat.”
