CONSUMPTION IN BRITAIN LONDON, Aug. 30. The Economic Committee’s report on lairy produce for 1933 refers to the emarkable increase in the consumption >f butter in the United Kingdom in 'ecent years, reaching 2341 b. per head >f the population. The consumption f eggs increased to 152 per head. The report also mentions the decline n imports of butter by foreign counties, notably Germany, whose imports, wing to the restrictions imposed, have leclmed by 41 per cent, since 1931. jl proportion to the world’s exports aken, Germany had declined from over me-quarter of the whole in 1918 to ipproximately one-tenth.
