S.O.S. MOTOR SERVICES

TAKEN OVER BY RAILWAYS CHANGE OPERATES TO-DAY. The Government Railways Board has taken over the running of the motor service operating between Wanganui and Wellington and previously run by the S.O.S. Motors Ltd., the change taking effect as from to-day. Mr. 8. C. Doyle, manager of the New Zealand Railways Road Motor Services Department, was in the city yesterday to complete the arrangements. Three new railways buses are to be employed immediately and more will follow. In the meantime the service will bo maintained with the three new vehicles and the best of the S.O.S. cars. ►Six drivers who were in thp employ of the company are to be retained in the pay of the Railways Board, together with one. garage hand at Wanganui, a girl in the Wanganui office and two in the Wellington office. It is not intended to alter fares or timetables as yet, Mr. Doyle stated.
