Sheep.—Prime ewes 21s 3d, 22s 3d, 235; prime wethers 28s 9d, lighter 245, 25s 6d; forward ewes 18s Id, 19s; full mouth wethers 225. Cattle. —Light bullocks £5, £6 10s; prime cows £4 ss, £4 Bs, £4 10s; fat cows £2 15s, £3, £4; light cows £2, £2 12s 6d; P.A. 2j-yr empty heifers £3 15s; ditto Hereford £3 10s; store cows £l, £1 10s; small yearling Jersey heifers 225, 255; pedigree Jersey cows in milk (iHgns, Bgns; good dairy cows (close up) £6, £6s 15s; dairy cows (backward and aged) £1 10s, £3 15s; dairy heifers (close up) £4 10s; ditto inferior and small £1 15s, £2 ss. Fat sheep, store sheep, fat cattle and fat and store pigs showed satisfactory advances. Store Sheep.—The smallest entry of the season, comprising for the most part ewes. Values were slightly above those ruling at last sale. Good twotooth crossbred ewes to 335, medium two-too>th halfbred to 23s 3d, good six* tooth haltfbred to 325, good four-tooth halfbred to 30s, medium sound-mout'ii three-quarterbred 23s to 23s 6d, ordinary halfbred wethers to 17s Bd. Fat Lambs.—Six hundred were penned, values being on a par with last week. Extra prime heavy lambs made to 28s lOd, prime heavy 24s 6d to 275, prime medium weights 21s to 245, light 16s to 20s. Fat Sheep.—A small entry of 3400 head, which met with keen competition and an advance of a shilling a head. Some western Otago lines wore included. Extra prime wethers to 29s 7d. prime heavy 26s to 27s 6d, prime njedium 23s to 255, ordinary 19s 6d to 22s 6d. light 16s to 19s, best ewes to 25s 76, prime heavy 22s to 24s Id, prime medium weight 19s to 21s Id, ordinary 16s 6d to 18s 6d, light 13s to 16s. Choppers £2 to £5 3s 6d, baconcrs 47s 6d to £3 19s 6d; average price per lb 4UI to s}d. Porkers 26s to 38s 6d; average price per lb 5d to 516. Store Pigs.—A small entry, mostly of medium and Iftrge stores. Values wore slightly better. Weaners 9s 6d to 1.35, slips 12s to 14s 6d, stores 15s to 27s 6d, sows in pig 50s to £3 13s 6d. THE WESTFIELD SALE GOOD PRICES REPORTED. ( Per Press Association ). AUCKLAND, July 4. The exceptionally stormy weather of the past few days did not affect the yarding at the West field sale to-day. Al! classes were in average yarding. Beef was offered to the number of about 500. There was a shortage of heavy steers. Cows weer sold iu large numbers, and the quality generally was good. There was a keen demand throughout. Runners, 35s to 70s; vealers. 15s to 565. There was a very fair yarding of sheep, mostly of good quality. Bidding was brisk throughout and a firm tendency continued. There were some excellent pens of prime wethers. The best butchers’ offering for some tinre sold at 29s 3d. Wethers, prime. 22s 66 to 30s; unfinished, 17s to 24s 66; ewes, prime, 17s to 24s 3d; unfinished. 12s to Lambs wen? seasonably short, with most unfinished and inferior sorts offerings. Lambs: Prime, 16s to 265; unfinished, 12s to 16s 6d. There was again an average yarding of pigs with a shortage of prime sorts. The demand was very spirited, with good prices for baconers.
