HEAVIEST SINCE 1918 (Own Correspondent) TAIHAPE, July 4. ; the heaviest snowfall since 1918 wt I experienced in Taihape yesterday when residents awakened to find th J ground covered* to a depth of nearl. Several branches c trees have broken under the weight o the snow, which, it might be men tioned, did not commence falling unt ; about 3 o’clock yesterday morning, bu rapidly increased in intensity. The sun shone brightly yesterda afternoon and Taihape presented ; picturesque sight under its heav mantle of snow. Indications pointed to a sharp fros at the time of writing.
