HUNTERVILLE

BIRTHDAY PARTY. There was a packed house to witness the screening of “Little Women” on Monday night, and following the picture programme, Air. and Mrs. J. B. McKnight, lessees of the hall, entertained a large number of friends and patrons at supper and dance. This function marked the second anniversary of Mr. Me Knight Is lease of the Town Hall, and at the splendid supper provided a beautiful two-lier birthday cake, bearing two candles, occupied a prominent position and was sampled by all. A very enjoyable program lire of dance music was rendered by (.'arriugton’s Orchestra, and the floor was thronged 'with couples. Extras were played by the talkie apparatus. During the evening the host and hostess received many words of appreciation of their efforts as public entertainers, ami all present had a good time. PERSONAIj. A memorial service to the late Mrs. Ironmonger was held in the Anglican Church on Sunday night, when there was a large attendance, including mem bers of the Rangatira Lodge of Free--1 masons. The funeral of the late Mr. R. J Mt 1 Alley took place on Sunday afternoon. a large number of people paying their last respects at tire graveside. Ihe Rev. Murray read the burial service, three sons and three grandsons acting as pall-bearers.
