INTERNATIONAL RETURNS Received Julv 2, 9.5 p.m, GENEVA, Julv 1. The International Labour Office figures reveal a gratifying reduction in world unemployment for tho second quarter of 1934, compared with tho same period of 1933. Unemployment was only worse in Bulgaria, France, the Irish Free State, Poland and Portugal. The greatest reductions in unemployment for the year ended May, 1934, were: United States, 13,256,000 to 10,616,000; Germany, to 2,514,610; Canada 37,659 to 28,840; Japan, 438,780 to 390,243. There was considerably increased employment in Latvia and Sweden. Tho Australian Trade Union returns for Alarch, 1933, to Alarch, 1934, show that tho unemployed fell from 108,182 to 92,297, and in New Zealand fell bv 3960.
