Al cteorologieal Office, Wellington, Monday, July 2, 4 p.m. General Situation. —Pressure is still low over and to the east of tiro Dominion, while an intense anti-cyclone covers Eastern Australia and the western Tasman. Forecast.—Winds: Moderate to strong south-westerly, of gale force in places. Seas (New Zealand waters): Heavy on the west coast of the North Island and about Fovcuux Strait, elsewhere rough. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong southerly winds to gales and rough seas, with a heavy southerly swell. Weather very cold, unsettled and squally, with rain at times in most districts and further snow on the ranges, also on much of the low country of the South Island. The New Zealand Friends'School,-St. John’s Hill, report for 2-1 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday:—Bright sunshine, 30 minutes. Bainfall, .2in. Shade temperature: Maximum, 48 deg. Fahr.; minimum, 35 dee'. Fahr.
