Marist, displaying mediocre form after the strenuous effort of the Saturday before, deserved to go under to Technical Old Boys by 13 points to nil. Pirates had a close shave on the Racecourse, winning against Waverity as the result of a field goal, a scoring medium which gave the blacks victory against this club in the first round also. On Wednesday next 10 players who have worn the All Black jersey will participate with upwards of 20 more in a trial match at Wanganui which is to pave the way to the selection of a North Island trial team to play the South at Auckland on Saturday.
