A cablegram from Detroit, with Sat- : urday’s date, announces that at the International Rotary Convention Mr. Hott was elected governor of the 53rd (N.Z.) district. That evening Mr. Hott became suddenly seriously ill, states a cable received to-night by the retiring governor, Mr. T. C. List. Leading doctors were called in but arc puzzled over the case, which appears to be a form of food poisoning. Mr. Hott has /been removed to the Harper Hospital for special observation and treatment. The secretary of the Rotary International gives an assurance that Mr. Hott is receiving unremitting attention and the best medical skill in America.
