MAGISTRATE’S COURT. At the monthly silting of the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.AI., presided. Dog Tax. Fur the Waimarino County Council, Air. L. Ritchie, said complaints had been received of sheep-worrying and the council had decided to take action against owners of unregistered dogs and a number of natives had been brought before the Court. Rangi Aonui was fined £1 and costs 10s, solicitor’s fee 10s 6d and ordered to register two dogs at 2s 6d each. George Taitana was fined 10s for one dog. Court costs 10s, solicitor’s fee 10s 6d and ordered to register one dog at 2s 6<l. 11. Haitana was fined 10s for one dog. costs 10s, solicitor’s fee 10s 6d and ordered to register one dog at 2s 6d. Joe Laiaroa, for three dogs, was fined £l. He wrote to the clerk of the Court explaining that he had destroyed two dogs. Court costs 10s. solicitor’s fee JOs 6d. On the information of Inspector Wilson, for not having a light on his bicycle at 7.40 p.m. on March 31, Raymond Tuatini was fined 5s and costs. Ben Phillip was fined 10s and costs for failing to have two registration plates on his motor-lorry. Inspector Wilson stated he had only one number plate when he saw the lorry on thf» Bulls-Taumarunui highway on Alarch 16. Civil Business. Judgment by default was given m the following eases: —D. P. Scarfe v. Airs. Eria Hcrewini, claim £4 0s 9d and costs £1 19s 6d; D. P. Scarfe v. P. C. Alurray, claim £32, costs £4 7s 6d; Wanganui Hospital Board v. H. T. Edwards, claim £5 Bs, costs £1 13s 6d;
Raet.ihi Auto Company v. E. A. VoeL kerkiug, claim £4 Ils 6d, costs £1 7s 6d; D. P. Scarfe v. F. H. r. Rogers, claim £2 18s 2d, costs £1 5s 6d; I). P. Scarfe v. Joe Taiaroa, claim £7 4s, costs £1 15s 6d; D. P. Scarfe v. L. Waara, claim £1 15s, costs I7s; D. P. Scarfe v. Rangi Tane, ciaim £5 12s, costs £1 9s 6d; Raetihi Auto Company v. R. C. Ferguson and B. V/aymouth. claim £l6 18s, and costs. Ngawaukehu Sawmilling Company v. Al. J. Garmonsway, claim £1 10s and costs; H. Af. Hughes v. L. W. Godfrey, claim £7 rent and possession of house; Roy Dittmer was ordered to pay C. W. Rait £lO 2s lid on judgment summons at the rate of £1 a month; G. Haitana was ordered to pay D. P. Scarfe £7 18s lid forthwith, in default eight days’ I imprisonment.
