STEADY DECLINE SHOWN TOTAL BELOW EIGHT MILLION Received June 27, 11.10 p.m. NEW YORK, June 26. The National Industrial Conference Board has announced that the estimated total number of unemployed workers in the United States in May. 1934, was 6,899,000, representing a decline of 50,000 from the previous month and a decline of 5,304,000 from the total in March, 1933, when unemployment reached its peak.
