THE WANGANUI SALE GOOD SALE, BEEF FIBMEB. Freeman IL Jackson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on yesterday's Wanganui sale: —We had a good entry in all sections, and although the sale was decidedly brighter than last week, the 1 slight rise in fat cattle and dairy stock was hardly quotable. Nevertheless, the tone was decidedly brighter, and we have to report a total clearance in ail 1 sections. Sheep.—Prime ewes 225, 22s sd, 235; fat ewes 19s, 21s; fat lambs 18s, 21s 3d; f.m. ewes to S.L. rams 235, 24s 9d, 255. Cattle.—Prime S.H. heifers £5 17s, £6 3s; prime S.H. cows £4 10s, £4 17s 6d; 1 fat ex dairy cows £2 3s, £2 12s, £4 4s; 2| to 3£-year Hereford steers £5 2s; store cows 21s, 30s; dairy cows close up £4 10s, £5 10s; others £2 10s, £3 10s; heifers close up £4 7s 6d, £5 10s; back- • ward and inferior £2 6s, £3. Pigs.—Light baconers 355, 375; heavy porkers 30s, 34s 6d; porkers 2(55, 295; store 18s, 245; lips 14s, 18s; sows to farrow 375, 42s 6d, 455. Vealers: Poor, 30s, 355; calves 15s, 255, 325.

THE MARTON SALE The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report a small yarding of sheep at the above sale on Tuesday. ; However, the sale was quite a bright one, breeding ewes in lamb to S.D. rams being in good demand. He had a yarding of about 50 cattle mostly store cows with a few dairy sorts. The prices for dairy cattle of any description are very low although competition is keen up to a point A short supply of pigs came forward" which sold readily at an increase on previous sales. We quote two-tooth ewes r.w. S.ID. rams, 325; in.a ewes ditto, a good line 27s Id to 27s 3d; b.f. hoggets Ifis 4d. Dairy cows at drop £2 10s, £3 15s, £3 17s fid; spring calvers, 27s fid to £2; fat cows ex dairy 35s to £2; store cows, 20s, 23s fid to 30s t Weaner pigs to 14s fid; smaller sorts," 10s Od to 12s 6d.

BULLS SALE Dalgety and Company Limited report on their Bulls sale held on Monday; A fair yarding of all classes of stock came forward, which met with a ready demand, and a total clearance was made. They quote: —2-th. ewes, r.w. S.D. rams, 29s lOd; fat lambs, 18s 6d, 19s 8d; wether lambs, 13s 2d, 13s 6d, 14s 6r 16s 7d, 17s 8d; low conditioned ewes, empty, 3s 3d; b.f. lambs, 17s 3d; fat wethers, 27s 9d; dairy cows, £2 15s, £3; heifers, r.w.b., £2 10s, £3, £3 7s 6d, £3 10s; fat cows, £2 Is, £2 7s; store cows, 19s, 20s, 28s, 395; weaner Jersey heifers, 12s, 17s. Store pigs, 13s, 15s 6d, 16s Cd. 17s Od; slips, 12s, 14s.

VALUES AT ADDINGTON A SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT. [ Per Press Association. ) CHRISTCHURCH, June 27. Entries werb smaller in most sections of stock at to-day’s Addington market, and there was a slight improvement in most sections. Store Sheep.—A very small entry which comprised a good proportion of wethers. Values all round were slightly firmer. Medium two-tooth halfbred ewes to 27s Od, medium four, six and eight-tooth Corriedale to 17s, medium sound and failing mouth halfbred to 10s fid, forward two-tooth halfbred wethers 19s Cd to 20s 6d, ordinary two-tooth half-bred to 18s Id, good four and six-tooth Corricdale to 19s 2d, ordinary half-bred to 17s 7d. Fat Lambs. —A brisk sale at up to BJd per lb. for under 3G’s. Extra prime heavy lambs to 30s, prime heavy 25s to 275, prime medium weights 21s 6d to 24s Cd, light Ifis to 21s. Fat Sheep.—A small entry of 3400 and a firmer sale, the advance being up to a shilling a head. Extra prime heavy wethers to 28s 4d, prime heavy 25s Od t 04175, prime medium 22s 6d to 255, ordinary 18s to 225, light 15s to 17s 6d, extra prime heavy ewes to 27s 4d, prime heavy 21s 6d to 235, prime medium 19s to 21s, ordinary 16s to 18s Od, light 12s to 15s. Fat Cattle. —Smaller yardings of 400 head. Good beef sold at an advance of 10s a head, and other quality was unchanged. Best beef made to 235, good 19s to 225, heavy 16s to 17s 6d, other qualities down to Ils per lOOlbs. Extra prime heavy steers to £lO 17s 6d, prime heavy £6 15s to £8 15s, prime medium weight £5 15s to £7 10s, ordinary £3 10s to £5 ss, light to £3 7s 6d, extra prime heifers to £9 7s 6d, prime £4 10s to £7, medium £2 10s to £4 ss, light to £2 7s fid, extra prime cows to £7 7s 6d, prime £3 15s to £5 ss, ordinary £2 10s to £3 10s, light and aged to £2 ss. Store Cattle: A weather market, yearlings being down by 7s 6d, and adult steers by 10s. Fat Pigs.—A small entry and a slightly better sale. Average price per ]b. for baconers, 4|d to sd, porkers, 5d to fid. Store Pigs. —A smaller entry and a better sale for all classes, except wcaners. Slips Us to 13s, stores 14s to 225.

THE WESTFIELD SALE FIRM TONE INDICATED [ Per Frews /.sboclatlon. J AUCKLAND, June 27. There was again a firm tone at the Westfield fat stock sale, in spite of the larger yardings. Ox beef totalled 500, many of good quality, and individual lots sold well under a keen demand. Last week’s prices were fully maintained. and increased in some cases. Generally, a firmer tone was indicated. Extra •choice ox, 22s per 1001 b., choice and prime, 18s to 21s; secondary and plain, 14s to 18s; prime young cow and heifer beef, 17s to 21s; ordinary cow beef, 10s to 16s; extra heavy prime steers, £9 to £9 15s; heavy prime, £8 to £8 17s 6d; lighter prime, £6 15s to £7 17g 6d; light prime, £5 15s to £6 12s 6d; small and unfinished, £3 15s to £5 12s 6d; extra heavy young cows and heifers, £6 to £6 10s; heavy prime, £5 to £5 17s 6d; lighter prime, £3 10s to £4 17s 6d; other killable cows, £1 15s to £3 12s 6d.

There was an average yarding of sheep with a large proportion of ewes. Competition was keen throughout with values firmer for prime wethers, anil at fully late rates for prime ewes. Wethers, prime, 23s to 30s 9<3; unfinished, 17s to 24s 9;1; ewes, prime, l;-« to 245; unfinished, 15s to 20s. Lambs again were in average numbers. There was a good demand at fully late rates. Lambs, prime, 16s to 265; unfinished, 9s 9rl to 17s 6d. . A large yarding of calves, in the earlier part of the sale sold at late rates, but later there was an easing tendency. Runners, 36s to 81s; vealers, 19*’ to 645. Pigs were offered in good rumbers and competition was brisk for all prime ha'coners and heavy porkers, and late rates were maintained. For light and medium porker* there was not such a demand, and prices were lower. Stores sold at recent rates. Baconers, 51s to 795; porkers, 26s to 475; large stores, 20s to 235.
