Chan, Presbyterian Chinese missioner, at Auckland, said the unemployment situation amongst the Chinese at Invercargill, Dunedin, Timara Oamaru, Ashburton. Christchurco ana Wellington did not appear to be very serious. If a Chinese had a pair of willing hands he could always find work with friends, even though he might find little or no remuueration. Generally speaking, thc Chinese community wa« in a position to look arter its own people, as it always did.
